Circle of Life Crewel Cushion

Honeysuckle, cornflowers and acorns are interspersed between ornate leaves on this enchanting small cushion. Soft embroidery wools are used to stitch the motifs onto natural linen in a design reminiscent of the Tree of Life so prominent in traditional crewel work. It is a very good beginner project and we have done it a few times in our crewel embroidery classes to introduce new stitchers to crewel work.

You can find the pattern in Inspirations Issue 79.
